'There would only be a world without fashion if there were a world without people'

Lets celebrate fashion. Let Britain hold up its hand and give this powerful industry there recognition it deserves. Let it be celebrated like the mining industry was. Lets be proud!
Some may look down on what the fashion industry is, but look past the pretty models and the £5000 bag and take a moment to realise and think about what this sector brings to Britain and lets celebrate it rather than be embarrassed to admit its success.
There will always  be those who believe that fashion is about materialism, that its for posers and that they have no involvement in such at all. This is not true, you may not read your monthly glossy to get your inspiration but you have eyes, everywhere around you is fashion. The person on the bus, the billboard you pass on your way to work, the shop windows you drive past, in your very own wardrobe! Every morning you roll out of bed and BAM! We have a thought process of what your going to wear today, the colour of your jumper for example, it was chosen, its not by chance that it sat there in the shop nicely folded for an addition to your autumn wardrobe. It came from the catwalk, a designer would have sat and thought about what they wanted, where they got there inspiration and chosen that very colour. Your jumper may not have been £500 like that initial jumper, but that colour dripped down the market, drip, drip, drip. Until there it was, neatly folded in our much loved high-street stores. This trickle down effect is a great way to access high fashion at a fraction of the price, or at least be wearing the same colour.
Britain is a leader in fashion! We have a fashion week, people should embrace it like the do the olympics, I mean fashion has been around longer, everyone takes part every day, it should be celebrated not make you fear of being stereo-typed. Even if your not a poser, or a glamour barbie doll, or a trend setter, or even a follower you should be proud of what it brings to your country.
The fashion industry keeps 815,000 in a job, it brings in over £20.9 billion to the UK economy every year, London fashion week makes £20million alone and brings in over £100million on orders. I this doesn't make you step back and think WOW, then I don't know what will.
People have been embracing fashion from as long ago as 170,000 years, since the apes started to lose there hair and would cover up with fur, although it may have started to be functional it soon changed, the cut and style, the social standing aspect, all these have to be accounted for. Fashion is a big part in the society and the world we live in today! Its should be celebrated, one day it will be celebrated!
